One of the main problems with polymers, especially in polyethylene pipes, is decay and vulnerability to UV radiation from sunlight, which leads to further degradation in the presence of oxygen and changes in the physical and chemical properties of the polymers. Visible changes such as yellowing, loss of gloss, etc., indicate this degradation.

Manufacturers prefer to use pipe compound for polyethylene pipe production instead of petrochemical materials, which can increase resistance to sunlight by up to 15 times.
